This device works as advertised, although the user could benefit from a more detailed instruction booklet. I bought the unit after trying unsuccessfully to get my Epson 4180 scanner to scan 35 mm slides, which it claims to be able to do, but doesn't.

This product feels cheap, and performs even cheaper.

I was able to scan about 30 slides, and it completely stopped working.

The main problems I had while it worked were 1) the controls didn't seem terribly intuitive; and 2) there was no way to scan the slides right to a computer.

The second complaint could also be a benefit, in that you can do your scanning with only the scanner - you don't need to have a computer, in other words. But since most people have several computers, I don't see how that would be all that appealing.

Also, make sure you have an SD card. The memory on this allowed me to store four pictures.

I scanned my photos negatives. It was easy. This was a great investment. I am trying to gather more negatives from other family members to create a family disc. Highly recommend this product.
